The Leaning Towers, Hall Peak

10,774’

This painting is of the back-side of the towers, from the air. Photo from Steph Abegg.

First Ascent: Tuesday June 20, 1933 Alexander Addison McCoubrey, Alex McCourbrey Jr., Roger Neave, Burton Blanchard, Grahame Cairns

Wall Tower was ascended by the entire party on June 22, the day after Neave's birthday on which they rested and feasted. (How cool is that! Haha…all this from Bivouac.com)

Hall Peak caught my attention one day when I was searching through BC mountains on Google. It’s remote, so not many people have ascended it…but with such a beautiful row of towers, you can bet I’ll be getting out there to check out the lines! The trip report I read was from Matt Morris in 2015, in the American Alpine Journal.

Excerpt from the climb I want to do: “Our 17-pitch route was comprised of great granite and diorite, and we only encountered a few loose blocks: Direct East Buttress (2,000’, IV 5.9+).”
